What is clip art? Clip art is graphics that can be used in your documents. It can be purchased elsewhere or downloaded here for free. It comes in several formats such as .gif, .jpg, and .bmp. At this web site we only use .jpg and .gif. Jpg's are better for photos and full color photos. Gif's are better for drawn images, and images with large blocks of colors. Getting clip art. All of our clip art is free and can be used in anyway you want except in a archive or to make money. All content is Copyright Free, from Free Clip Art Network. You can download as many images as you like. It is not necessary, but we would appreciate a link back to us if you use our images on a website. What ever you do, DO NOT LINK TO THE IMAGE. Please download all images then upload them to your server. If you link to our image it uses our bandwidth making downloads slow for everyone. This is also for your own good, we could change the name of our graphic at any time. Windows: In Internet Explorer 5 right click the image you want and go down to "Save as..." If you want a large or medium image make sure to click that name below the thumbnail. In Netscape 6 right click the image you want and go down to "Save image as..." If you want the full size version don't forget to left click the image first. Macintosh: For Internet Explorer 5 click, and hold until a menu comes up go to the "Save as..." option. Once the "save as..." dialogue box pops open select the folder you wish to save your picture to, such as "Downloads". Make sure you save the image with a name you'll remember, like "dave.gif" rather than "678.gif". Using clip art. There are many applications of clip art such as websites, greeting cards, letterhead, invitations, or background images, therefore we cannot tell you how to use every application but we can give you some hints. To use a background image in windows click the thumbnail. Once the large picture is loaded right click it. A Menu should pop up go down to "Set as wallpaper". To use in a webpage download the image then upload it to your server. To insert it in an HTML document use: <IMG SRC = "Image name here.gif"> For MS Office 97/2000 Select a location on your document for the clipart. On the bar at the top go to "Insert" then "Picture" then "From File". Then select the picture from the directory you saved it in. Once the Picture is in the document you can click on it then pull on the corners to resize it. For most graphics editing programs: Go to "File" Then "Open". Go to the directory you saved your picture in and select it. Hit okay. Other Applications: There are many applications for creating greeting cards and such. For most of them there will be a menu on the top such as "Insert" and then under that "Image..." From there you will just have to find the folder you saved it in. |
